Marjorie Susan Robinson's Obituary

Marjorie S. Robinson, age 88, wife of John H. Robinson, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at home, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on May 22, 1936, to the late Willie E. Roberts and Annie Mae (Brown) Roberts, in Adel, GA. Her family moved to Seabrook, NJ in 1946, where she attended school, and graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1954.

Marjorie married the love of her life on December 26, 1954, and had 5 children. Since family always came first, she was a devoted mother and housewife. After her children were older, she began to pursue her career in education where she received a BA Degree from Glassboro State Teacher's College (Rowan). After graduating from college, Margie was a second-grade teacher in the Bridgeton Public School District for 27 years, and after retirement in 2002, she substituted for several more years.

Margie accepted Jesus at an early age and has been a member of Union Baptist Temple since the age of 10. She later became a longtime Sunday School and Bible School teacher for over 40 years. Her biggest joy was singing. She was a member of the #2 choir, Davis Choral Ensemble, Temple Gospel Choir and the Levites.

Her favorite places and things to do were singing, going to church, dining out, traveling by car and sleeping while her husband drives! Her favorite scripture I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.

Marjorie leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 70 years, John H. Robinson, a son John A. Robinson, Sr., 4 daughters: Deborah Robinson-Sykes (Jay) of VA, Sherrie Robinson, Sonya R. Robinson, Kimberly G. Robinson (who died at birth), 4 grandchildren: John A. Robinson, Jr. (Mai) of CO, Nicole Hills, Muhammad A. Ahmad of DE, Ibraheem Y. Ahmad of MD, 4 great grandchildren: Josiane and Jolyse Robinson, London and Kansan Hills, 2 brothers: E. Eugene Roberts, James C. Roberts, 2 sisters: Eva L. Jenkins of NY, Phyllis Watson of NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by mother, father, sister Thelma Jenkins and brother Benny Roberts.
