Maron Abraham Dentis was born on April 14th 1936 in Bridgeton, NJ to Ethel Mae Pierce Bruce and Henry Dentis. Maron, lovingly referred to as "Sonny", "Abe", and "Pickle", was one of 15 children born to Ethel Mae and Henry.
Maron attended School in the Bridgeton Public School System until the 6th grade, where he began to work at the PJ Ritter plant in Bridgeton New Jersey. Shortly afterwards, Maron served in the US Army, traveling all over the United States.
Maron was an avid outdoorsman, with a love for nature, landscaping, fishing and hunting. He had a knack for shooting deer, once hitting a prized 14 point buck. Maron also liked to paint, having painted many scenes of nature . Maron loved music and even played in a band; he was very gifted with a guitar and amplifier.
Building on his love for nature and landscaping, Maron was employed by Cumberland Nurseries in Bridgeton. In later years, Maron worked as a security officer for the EatMor Supermarket in Rosenhayn, New Jersey. He worked here for many years until his retirement.
Maron passed away on November 7th, 2018 in Vineland New Jersey, in the company of his beloved family.
Maron is survived by five children, Elvis Dentis (mother Vivian), Damien Dentis, Bianca Dentis , Angelena Dentis, and Raoul Dentis (mother Deloras Hall). He is also survived by two sisters, Margaret Bruce and Ethel Mae "Candy" Dentis of Delaware, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by mother Ethel Mae Bruce Pierce, wife Vivian Dentis, two children: son Abraham Dentis Jr., and daughter Lucille (mother Vivian); and two sisters: Lorraine Pierce and Francis Taylor; and brothers Ross Dentis, David Bruce, Roland Holmes-Bruce, and Otto Bruce.
