Martha Washington's Obituary

Martha Bell Washington was born on January 25, 1947, in Swainsboro, GA to the late Willie T. and Evetta Phillips Hannah. Our merciful Lord delivered her from suffering and welcomed her home on July 17, 2024, at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, NJ.

Martha received her education in the Bridgeton Public Schools System. Martha was employed and retired from Seabrook Brothers and Sons. She was employed for 30 years. She attended several area churches during the years and accepted Christ and his teachings at an early age.

Martha loved to cook her favorite dishes candy yams, collard greens, macaroni and cheese and her famous stuffing. She was also a comedian in disguise. Martha was a kind and loving person who loved spending time with her family, not only with tenderness and affection but with sternness.

She leaves to mourn her four daughters; Evertha Hannah, Wondell Hannah-Kerr, Takecha Washington, Dalfredda Washington, all of Bridgeton, NJ, two sons; Anthony Hannah, Hirial Washington III (aka Bucky), all of Bridgeton, one son-in-law Orville Kerr, one daughter-in-law Earline Mosley - Washington, 19 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, one sister Bertha B. Hannah Bolden, nieces, nephews, cousins and supportive friends.

Martha was welcomed into glory by her husband Hirial Washington II, her parents Willie T. and Evetta Phillips Hannah, two sisters; Mary, Alberta, three brothers; Richard, Willie J., and Matthew.
