Marva Virginia Steward was born on March 25, 1944 in Birmingham , AL to Jeannette and Jasper Thomas. After an extended illness, Marva was called to her eternal rest on Weds May 22, 2024 at the home of her eldest daughter Venus Carter in San Antonio,  Tx.

She attended Oakcrest High School in Mays Landing through the 10th grade and went on to work at the Vineland State School a few years later and retired as a Cottage Training Technician after 20yrs. She met and married her predeceased husband Gerald Steward "Teddy" and the two were married on March 27,1965. They went on to have three children Venus Carter, Rhonda Johnson (predeceased), and Shaun Steward.

Marva will always be remembered as such a loving, giving and quiet mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, wife, aunt and friend. Her Faith in GOD was strong and she had the most giving heart imaginable. She loved her Motown music, spending time with her family and caregivers Simone and Mary and talking long distance on the phone to her many friends.

She leaves behind 2 of her 3 children Venus and Shaun, 11 grandchildren, Candice, Lyndon Jr, Marcus Jr, Asia, Brandon, NyShaun, Tyeema, Shamar, RayShaun, TyAsia, Tiara (predeceased), 15 great grandchildren, one sister Annette Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
