Michael Anthony Pender, 69 of Brotmanville, NJ, son of Delores Mae Pender Doss and the late W. Norman Mayes was born in Bridgeton, NJ on January 27, 1957.  He was the third of seven children born to Delores Mae Pender Doss. Michael transitioned from earth to glory on June 1, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Michael attended Deerfield and Bridgeton Public Schools. He later graduated from Buena Regional High School in 1975. He played football as a tight end and linebacker for the Buena Chiefs. "Meatman" as he was known to many loved to grill for his family and friends, whereby he got his name. Man, did he love fast cars and his motorcycles. He fearlessly enjoyed the speed of each one. He also loved his Philadelphia Eagles and he watched faithfully with his "brothers", Joel Brown and Howard Fraley. Michael was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. James A. Dunkins, one church in two locations, Vineland and Port Norris NJ. Michael was employed by Media Stack, Vineland, NJ and Durand Glass, Millville, NJ where he worked for many years.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother, Delores Mae Pender Doss; sisters, Margaret Pender Handy of Vineland, NJ; Vanessa Pender-Nixon of Logan Township, NJ; Wanda Still–Mayes of Vineland, NJ; Ronda Doss of Houston, TX; Jacqueline Doss of Elmer, NJ; brother, Wilbor Doss Jr. of Millville, NJ; his lady and love of his life, Veronica Bell of Elmer, NJ; sons, Herbert Rahshi Bell of Vineland, NJ, and Anthony Broome of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren, Ralazha Bell, Rashee Bell, Rahzir Bell, Rahjon Bell, and Rahjae' Bell; and his special brothers/friends, Joel Brown, James Pender and Howard Fraley; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
