Mickey Allen Young's Obituary

Mickey Allen Young was born on May 25, 1966 to Donald and Marie (Young) Farrington in Philadelphia, Pa.  He peacefully transitioned suddenly from his earthly life on March 20, 2023.

Mickey attended Woodbine Elementary School in Woodbine, NJ but subsequently moved with his family to Newark, NJ.  He completed his education there.  Longing for the small-town environment, he returned to Woodbine in 1980.

His hobbies included: traveling, dancing, carpentry, painting, and construction work. However, most of all, he loved joking with family and friends.  His love of fashion was evident by his hat, sneaker, and cologne collections. He was a self-proclaimed public defender, representing and winning grievances filed.

Mickey chose to expand his skills in carpentry after graduation while working at Woodbine Developmental Center. His greatest employment achievement was becoming a contractor and entrepreneur, founding, Forever Young, his painting business. He never met a stranger and never lost his smile. He met and married Yolanda Forman Young, affectionately called Baby, on August 1, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his son, Khalil Wallace, a brother, Dwayne Young, his grandparents, several close family members, and friends.

In addition to his loving wife, Yolanda, Mickey is survived by his children, Tina (Josh) Green of Camden, NJ, Toiya (Johnnie) Muhammed of Bridgeton, NJ, Kwanaya Wise of Millville, NJ, Zharia Young of Woodbine, NJ, Zhyana Young of Woodbine, NJ, a special niece, Serenity Forman of Millville, NJ, and bonus children, Lemuel Harris of Millville, NJ and Harold Martin of Millville, NJ, his siblings, Walter Young of Atlanta, GA, Donald Young of Florida, Tina (Joseph) Jackson of Woodbine, NJ, Dion (Wanda) Young of Woodbine, NJ, Parrish Young of Woodbine, NJ, Nadine Young of Atlanta, GA, and Toni Young of Wildwood, NJ.  Surviving also are a host of grandchildren, and uncles, aunts, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Mickey will always be remembered by his warm, and lighthearted spirit, as well as being a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, neighbor, classmate, and friend.
