Minnie Mae Jackson-Segers's Obituary

Minnie Mae Butts was born on May 18, 1947, in Atlanta, Ga.  She is the daughter of Willie Butts and Mary Burley.  Minnie and her family moved to New Jersey where she married Ernest Jackson, Sr. and had eight children.  After losing her first husband to cancer, Minnie was able to find happiness and remarry Robert Segers and had two children.

Minnie retired after working as a hospice nurse.  But she was often quoted as saying her greatest joy was raising her children.  Minnie was a dedicated nurse and provided excellent care to everyone she worked with.  She had a gentle loving soul that patients often requested, and she never refused.  Minnie touched so many people through her work and will be sadly missed by the hospice community.

Minnies's life cannot be summed up in a few words. She was kind and loving towards all she met.  She mothered more children than her own and will always be affectionately referred to as Ms. Minnie, Ms. Mint, Grandmom, Mom Mom, and Mom.  Minnie was a devoted congregant to her church St. Augustine AME.  While there, she served on the usher and stewardess board.

"God's Got It" she would always say. "God's Got It".
