Moore
September 23, 1937 – October 14, 2022
Norma Moore was born in Salem on September 23, 1937 to the late Harry W. and Emma G. Moore. On October 14, 2022 while a patient at Cooper Hospital and surrounded by her loving family; she transitioned from this world and entered eternity on the wings of angels as they led her into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Norma was not only reunited with her parents; but also her husband, Donald, their two children, Donald Jr. and Kevin, her brothers, Aaron, Emory, and Harry Moore, Jr. and her sisters, Jacquelyn Cobb, Eva Brooks, and her twin Naomi Pitts.
Norma attended both Pennsville and Salem Schools before graduating from Salem High in 1955. It was at Salem High where she would meet Donald (Bucky) Moore and they would later marry on July 28,1956. Their union would nurture four children…Donald Jr., Kevin, Cynthia, and Timothy Moore.
Norma, a woman of many talents could sew and make clothing, play baseball, bowling, and excelled in all secretarial skills. While in her early years, she would work at the local sewing factories, it was in April 1981 that she landed her "dream job." She became a secretary for the Vineland Developmental Center. She held that job for 17 years before she retired.
Norma was a sports enthusiast and loved nothing better than attending and or watching the Philadelphia Eagles and her beloved Phillies. Early in life, she gave her heart to God and joined Haven United Methodist Church. God was first in her life and her family was a close second; but her love for music and singing was her passion. She played the organ and loved to sing. She was the Choir Director for Haven's Gospel Ensemble, she also sang with Haven's Mass Choir and Senior Choirs. She also joined the Salem Community Women's Choir and Voices of Allen and Allen. A great typist, she was the best typesetter for Haven's Good News newsletter. One of her favorite songs was "Footprints of Jesus." She believed in the "Golden Rule" and would often repeat this Scripture, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." Norma was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Emma, her loving husband of 52 years, Donald (Bucky), two children, Donald (Duke), and Kevin, and six siblings: Aaron, Emory, and Harry Moore, Jr., Jacqulyn Cobb, Eva Brooks, and her twin, Naomi Pitts.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Cynthia and Timothy, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren, one brother, Donald, two Godchildren, Arthur Seabrook Jr. and Lynette Boyd, sisters in law, Deborah Oglesby (Jerry), Vada Moore, Virginia Moore, Lydia Moore, Shirley Winrow, and Doris Moore, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
