Rev. Nyada H. Clarke daughter of Percy and Bessie (Waters) Giles went home to be with the Lord on Sunday from her residence. She was born May 1, 1925 in Salem where she lived most of her life.

Rev. Clarke was a 1942 graduate of Salem High School. She graduated from Hampton School of Nursing in 1948. In 1972 she graduated from Glassboro State College with Bachelor of Arts and in 1985 she received her Certificate from Wesley Theology Seminary.

She was a Registered Nurse for Provident Hospital in Washington, DC, VA Hospital in Elsmere, DE where she was the 1 ^st Black Nurse., Salem Memorial Hospital retiring in 1973, John Fenwick School retiring in 1985 and St. Mary's School.

Rev. Clark was a member of Mt. Hope United Methodist Church in Salem and former Pastor of St. John United Methodist Church, Fordville and Haven United Methodist Church, Quinton.

She is survived by her children, Roxanne S. Bunting and Marpessa D. Kupendua; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Parthenia S. Giles; and a host of family and friends.
