Pitts
July 4, 1953 – February 8, 2025
Pamela Gail Pitts, born on July 4, 1953, peacefully departed this life on February 8, 2025. She was the eighth of eleven children born to the late Lester and Dorothy Pitts.
Pamela was a woman who deeply loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. She had a special talent in the kitchen, creating memorable dishes such as her famous Jewish Apple Cake, coleslaw, holiday fruit punch, and beef stew, among others. An avid Scrabble player, Pamela enjoyed the challenge and camaraderie the game brought. She also had a great appreciation for antiques, plants, and an assortment of unique knick-knacks that she lovingly collected. She found joy in visiting the Amish Market and was a devoted fan of A Company of Angels. Among the many joys in her life, Pamela held a deep appreciation for classic films. Some of her favorite movies included "It's a Wonderful Life", "Johnny Belinda", "Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte", "Jaws", "Old Yeller", and "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir".
Over thirty years ago, Pamela accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and faithfully served in various roles at Tabernacle of Praise under the leadership of Elder Marie Caldwell. She was a dedicated member of the church choir, worship team and took pride in her service. Pamela received her early education at Quinton Township and Salem Public Schools, graduating from Salem High School in 1971. She had a long and fulfilling career, working at Owen's Illinois, Mannington Mills, and later at Duralith, which became Parker Chromerics, where she remained until her retirement in 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Dorothy Pitts, and five beloved brothers: Lester, Chouncey, Anthony, Wesley, and Ralph. Pamela leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for those who survive her, including her paternal aunt, Bishop Marcia E. Pitts (Bear, DE); five siblings: Patricia Pace (Pennsville, NJ), Paulette Pitts (Bridgeton, NJ), Carol Wells (Harry - Bridgeton, NJ), Douglas Pitts (Bridgeton, NJ), and Annette Craig (Upper Marlboro, MD); one sister-in-law, Marie Pitts (Bridgeton, NJ); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Pamela will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and faith. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
