Pandora Orinty Davis-Smith, daughter of the late Percival Davis and Evangeline Gayle-Davis, was born in Bigwoods District, Kilmarnock, Westmoreland Parish, Jamaica West Indies on November 3, 1946. She departed this life on Saturday December 28, 2024, at the age of 78, in Salem, New Jersey, USA.

While residing in Jamaica, she received her Trained Teachers Certificate from Bethlehem Moravian Teachers College (now Bethlehem College). She taught for 21years at the following schools: Kilmarnock All Age, Chantilly All Age, Mount Grace All Age, Fyffes Pen All Age, and Santa Cruz All Age. In 1984, she migrated to the United States where she received a scholarship to attend Delaware State College (now Delaware State University).

While at Delaware State College she earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in 1988 and later went on to complete a Master of Arts in Education in 1991. As a trained and certified teacher, she taught at Faith Elementary and Middle School, in Dover Delaware where she taught Pre-Kindergarten, kindergarten, first, second and third grade classes for 23 years with the help of an aid, Mrs. Berry who is now deceased. After many years in education, she retired in 2012.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband of 35 years Allan W. Smith of Salem, NJ and her sister Qupie Davis of Kilmarnock, Jamaica West Indies.

She leaves to cherish her memories is her brother Robert "Viv", sisters: Keturah, Petla, Josephene and Mitse; family members from Jamaica and the United States – nieces and nephews (their spouses and children) and friends who share in the sadness of this occasion.
