Paul F Smith's Obituary

Paul Fulton Smith son of the late Stephan and Mary Smith was born October 13,1925 in Cumberland County, North Carolina. Paul affectionately known as Buddy was the second born of three children. He obtained his education in the Fayetteville, North Carolina school system. Paul relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1944 and in this same year he also met the love of his life Genelle. The two would wed on October 4,1947 and from this beloved union they were blessed with nine children, six sons and three daughters.

Paul loved being a husband and a father, he worked hard to take care of his family. Paul was a Sheetmetal worker for Kosempel Manufacturing Company and later he worked for the University of Pennsylvania as an Animal Lab Technician before his retirement. Paul and his family relocated to Vineland, New Jersey in 1975.

Paul and his wife became active members of Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church where he was an active member in the church, on the choir and was an ordained Deacon. In retirement Paul and Genelle relocated to Cheltenham, Pennsylvania in Two thousand and five. Paul joined Shiloh Temple Community C.O.G.I.C. where he served as a Deacon and was an active member. He enjoyed the Shiloh Super Bowl Parties.

Paul loved talking about God to his family and friends. He loved putting together car kits and he was an avid Pinochle player, "rubbing heads" is what he liked to do. He also enjoyed dominoes and reading the daily newspaper. Paul departed this life on October 29, 2020.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters; Paula Smith and Wanda Smith both of Philadelphia; five sons Ray Smith(Janet) of North Carolina, Ronald Smith and Tyrone Smith(Denise) of Philadelphia, Bruce Smith(Veda) of North Jersey and Mark Smith(Joyce) of Vineland, New Jersey. One daughter-in-law Gwenetta Brown; twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty-five great grandchildren, thirty-five, great great-grandchildren, three nieces Naomi, Cherye and T'Challa; one nephew S. Richard and a host of great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends.

Paul Smith has gone to reunite with his one and only beloved Genelle Smith, his son James, his daughter Shirley, his grandson Paul, his sister Annette, his brother Clarence, and his niece Earlene who preceded him in death. Paul was a God-fearing man of wisdom and we thank God for his life.
