Obituary

Ramone Anthony Willis, 61, of Bridgeton, NJ, peacefully transitioned from this life on April 22, 2026, at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, NJ after a short-term illness.

Born on March 6, 1965, at Bridgeton Hospital, he was the beloved youngest son of the late Catherine Burch-Brown and David U Willis, Jr. Ramone grew up in the Bridgeton and Vineland communities, attending both public school systems. Where he developed the determination that would guide him throughout his life.

From an early age, Ramone shared a special bond with his grandfather, Amos Burch. The two spent countless hours watching wrestling together, and it was during those moments that Ramone earned his well-known nickname, “Razor Ramone,” affectionately called by family and friends. That same adventurous spirit led him to motorcycles and dirt bikes, a passion he carried through the years. Among his favorites was his prized Hayabusa 1300, which he lovingly called “Bumblebee.” Nothing gave him more freedom and joy than riding down the open road on his bike, wind in his face and peace in his heart.

Ramone was introduced to the construction industry by his grandfather, who became both his mentor and inspiration. His first job was at Owens Illinois, located on N. Laurel & Penn St in Bridgeton, NJ. It was there they worked side by side. He received invaluable lessons and on-the-job training. Over the years, Ramone dedicated himself to his craft, taking on various construction roles that showcased his skill.

In March 1997, he pursued formal training by joining Construction Union Local 222. There he completed his apprenticeship and advanced to the rank of Journeyman. Always striving for excellence, Ramone transitioned to Local 415 in 2002, which later merged to become Local 77 in 2012. He proudly remained a member of Local 77 until his retirement in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and professionalism that earned him respect across the industry.

Ramone also had a love for skating and was known as a “bad man on four wheels,” He use to light up the Bridgeton and Franklinville skating rink alongside his skating buddies Kenny Brown, Hubert Hornes, Darry Milledge, and Dale Coleman. His enthusiasm for cars came from his older brother Larry, with whom he spent many exciting days at Atco Raceway, watching and learning the art of drag racing.

Ramone shared unbreakable bond with his brother Joe. They were more than brothers; they were best friends. If you saw one, the other was never far behind. Some of their favorite memories include fishing trips, summer BBQs, and after they both retired from construction, cruising around town in Ramone’s truck, listening to oldies and reminiscing about the good old days was their favorite thing to do.

Ramone was the baby of four children and was spoiled rotten to the core as a child. A trait that carried right into adulthood. Whatever Ramone wanted, he got. If it wasn’t from Mom, brother Larry, or Aunt Juanita, he would find a way to make it happen.

He was also known for his love of good food. Some of his favorite dishes included pig feet, turkey necks and rice, collard greens, and seafood. Ramone loved collard greens so much that he even made up his own song about them. He could be heard joyfully singing, “Collard greens, oh collard greens!” whenever they were cooking.

Ramone was a kid at heart; a free spirit who was always laughing, cracking jokes, and bringing joy to everyone around him. He lived his life boldly, laughed freely, and loved deeply. His legacy and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Ramone was predeceased by his parents, Catherine Burch-Brown & David U Willis Jr.; Maternal grandparents Amos & Geneva Gainey Burch. Paternal grandparents David & Ethel Clark Willis.
