Rebecca
Green
Apr 4, 1929 — Jul 30, 2026
Bridgeton
Rebecca Green was born on April 4, 1929, in Brownwood, Georgia, to the late Willie and Pernell Hall. On July 30, 2026, Rebecca went peacefully to be with God, surrounded by the love of God and her family. She was 97 years old.
She was first married to Willie Stewart. This marriage was brief, and from this union one child was born, Mary Lee Stewart Cuff.
In 1947, Rebecca came to Bridgeton. In 1949, she joined Union Baptist Temple Church under the leadership of Reverend W. T. Sneed. She gave herself fully to Union Baptist Temple Church. She served faithfully as an usher for more than 50 years, was a devoted missionary, and sang in the choir.
In February 1949, she married Carl W. Green, and they shared 71 years of marriage together. From this union, four children were born: Linda Beatty-Stephens, Carl Green Jr., Melvin Green Sr., and Rebecca Ann Green Walker.
Mom Beck was a woman of beauty and grace. She was an excellent cook, homemaker and mother. She traveled throughout the USA, the Caribbean and Mexico.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Pernell Hall; her husband. Carl W. Green Sr, her siblings, Arthur Hall, Bernice Hall, John Hall, and Lillie Mae Townsend; and her two sons, Carl Green Jr. (Junebug) and Melvin Green Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory one brother, Willie Hall Jr. (Gloria), and three daughters: Mary Lee Cuff, and her four children, Geronda, Audrey, Sonya, and Archie; Linda Beatty-Stephens, and her two children, Lou Beatty III and Brandyn Beatty; and Rebecca Ann Walker (Tommy), and her children, Michele Green, Rachelle Green, & William Walker Jr. (Keyona), Carl Green Jr. (Junebug) (deceased) and his two children Tyrone Loatman, Edie (John) Chestnut; Melvin Green Sr. (deceased) and his two children Melvin Green Jr. (Christin), Nicole (Larry) Brown.
She is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and one devoted friend, Catherine Brown.
Rebecca's life was one of quiet devotion — to her God, her church, and her family. Her legacy of love, faith and service will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Lovingly Submitted, The Family
