Ronald A
Parris
January 2, 1975 – July 27, 2020
Ronald Anselmo Parris was born to John Parris Jr and Francilla Attico on January 2, 1975 in Christiansted St. Croix. USVI. He was said to be an amazing son. By 4 years old he had an undying fascination with airplanes. This would ultimately shape his future.
He could name every plane flying overhead with uncanny accuracy. When asked how he knew, he would reply they all had different tails. When Ron reached school age, he attended Good Hope private school.
Later, Ron moved to the states with his mother Francillia Attico, sister Sharna Parris, and brother Frank Parris. As a teenager he loved going to the mall and various social events in Philly. In 1993 Ron graduated from Delran High School in Delran, NJ. From there Ron attended Mercer County Community College. Ron also studied aviation before joining the United States Airforce. He was honorably discharged on January 26, 2004 as a senior airman. After his discharge he followed his love of planes and worked for Jet East Corporate Aviation as an aircraft mechanic, AOG Controller, and technician, a job he loved and excelled at.
Ron became a diehard Redskins fan. He enjoyed playing fantasy sports and became an avid motorcyclist. In 1992 Ron joined a brotherhood fraternity known as A Phi B.
He met his soon to be wife Opal at the G spot in Glassboro, NJ. They became lifelong friends planning their wedding which blissfully happened on August 20, 2015. They enjoyed a storybook ceremony beachside overlooking the ocean with immediate family and close friends in Negril Jamaica.
In October 2013 he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer which he fought courageously and in typical Ron style with dignity. With his fiancée and family for support, Ron's cancer went into remission. Opal and Ron enjoyed close to 5 years of blissful marriage together despite his cancer returning in 2016.
Ron fought valiantly with Opal and his close family for support and encouragement before passing-away peacefully watching his wedding videos and listening to the accompanying soundtrack.
Opal wants to remind everyone "Ron was the best man I knew." His peers and close friends say Ron was loved by many but hated none.
