Shawn
Mosley
June 16, 1967 – January 15, 2026
At 58 years young, on January 15, 2026, the Lord welcomed a loyal husband, proud
father, devoted brother and uncle, cherished community member, and faithful servant into His
Kingdom. That faithful servant was Shawn Mosley.
At Heaven's gates, Shawn reunited with his beloved mother, Mary M. Moseley; his
father, James Mosley; his sister, Barbara; and his brothers, James "Jimmie" Lee Jr. and Ronnie
Mosley. He was also joyfully greeted by "Mom-Mom," Mary L. Stith—the mother of his best
friend and brother, Darrell Stith—welcoming him with her signature roast beef, chicken noodle
soup, and sweet tea.
Known for his dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to serving the public.
Shawn proudly served as a firefighter with the PSEG Nuclear Fire Department for over 20 years.
He also worked nearly a decade as a union electrician across the country. His coworkers
remember him for his intelligence, sharp wit, sense of humor, remarkable work ethic, and
unwavering selflessness.
Outside of work, Shawn found joy riding his motorcycle, working on cars and
lawnmowers, and ensuring his grass was always the greenest in the cul-de-sac. He was an avid
chess player and roller skater, often spending weekends skating with his wife and daughter.
Music carried him through many moments in life—you could often find him strumming his
guitar or playing the piano.
Shawn was especially passionate about serving all of God's fearfully and wonderfully
made creatures. He offered both physical and emotional support to neighbors in times of need,
shared his cheesesteaks with his beloved dog Brutus, fed the neighborhood cats and even built
them a home, and gave advice with raw language and brutal honesty—always from a place of
love.
Shawn will be dearly missed by his wife, Betty; his daughter, Brianna; his brother and
best friend, Darrell Stith (Stacy); his sisters, Tara and Lillie; his brother, Carl; and an abundance
of nieces and nephews. His absence is profound, and we can only hope to be a shadow of the
remarkable man he was.
