Timothy Byrd's Obituary

Timothy Thomas Byrd was born on November 16, 1960, in Bridgeton New Jersey, to the late Bradley T. Byrd and Anna Mae (née Moore) Byrd.

He departed this life at Inspira Hospital in Vineland, New Jersey on February 8, 2021 due to heart failure that was aggravated by COVID-19. He was 60 years old when he was called home.

Timothy, affectionately known to family as "Timmy" and by friends and others as "T-Byrd", grew up in Bridgeton and was educated in the Cumberland County School Systems.

He become a plumber early in his life and used his talents to help his family and friends.

Timmy accepted The Lord as his personal Savior when he was a young teenager and throughout all the struggles in his life, he never forgot The Lord. From a teenager, he attended The Assembly of God Church in Bridgeton.

Timmy truly loved The Lord. On Sundays, you could hear his gospel music playing down the block on the way to his apartment in Seabrook. He also liked the Oldies and some rock music; they could be heard some days down the block too.

Timothy was employed for a short time at Deerfield Machine Parts, and was a Forklift driver for many years at Seabrook Bros. and Sons until his health began to fail.

He had the biggest heart made of gold and an attitude to match. When he said he loved you; you knew he loved you. And if he didn't like you, he'd let you know that too.

Family meant everything to him and he wasn't afraid of anything. He would always said, "I'll try anything once, twice if I like it."

Timmy, being the eldest (of the son's) would always make a phone call to make sure his family members were alright if he didn't hear from them for a little while. Those phone calls starting with "how you doing, how's everybody" will be one of the things missed the most.

He was like the heart of the family, always trying to keep the family together because that's how he was. Every spring, Timmy was making phone calls to start planning BBQ's to get his family and friends together.

Timmy loved all of his friends even though life put distance between some of them over time. You could always count on him to tell a story about the things they all got into in their younger years.

Sure he had his own ways of doing things, who doesn't? Especially at his age. But, the difference is, he would still help anyone in any way he could. If he had it, you had it.... he had a big heart.

Timothy fought a hard fight against Covid19. But, that big heart had seen better days and couldn't fight any longer.

No more aches and pains. No more struggles, troubles or cares of this old world. He's home with The Lord now.

Timothy was also predeceased by his sisters, Yvonne E. (Moore) Goldsborough and Malinda A. Byrd, a brother Wayne S. Byrd, a brother-in-law Richard G. Goldsborough Sr., and a nephew Richard G. Goldsborough, Jr.

Timothy is survived by three brothers, Milton B. Byrd, Robert L. Byrd and Kenneth A. Byrd. All of Bridgeton New Jersey. Two aunts, Phyllis Holden of Bridgeton and Marie Byrd of Fairton New Jersey. One sister, Carolyn Hadley of Vineland, New Jersey. Three nieces, Teresa L. Goldsborough, of Bridgeton, Valerie D. Goldsborough, of North Carolina, and Ca Tina L.
