Tonia C. Wilson went home to be with the Lord peacefully on June 2, 2023, after a lengthy illness.  She was born on August 6, 1968, to her late parents, John Sample and Elaine Wilson.

Tonia attended Cumberland Regional High School and graduated with the Class of 1987.  She went onto further her education at Cumberland County College, receiving an AA Liberal Art/English degree and Fairleigh Dickinson University, BA in Criminal/Juvenile Justice.

Tonia was employed 14 years at Cumberland County Board of   Social Services since 2009, Family Practice Associates for 5 years and Rite Aid Supervisor for 11 years.

Tonia was a former member of Union Baptist Temple Church, under the leadership of Pastor Albert L. Morgan, serving as an active choir director, choir member and Youth Girls Dance Instructor.  She later joined Bethany Baptist Church, Lindenwold, NJ under the leadership of Bishop David G. Evans and a soprano singer on the Ensemble Choir.  Her membership at Bethany Baptist Church expanded over 18 years.  Tonia enjoyed singing, teaching dance, fashion, being a prayer warrior, and praising the Lord.

She leaves to carry her legacy: her siblings, Tamika Sample Riley of Texas, Sonya Wilson of New Jersey, Damon Nelson (Debbie)  of Maryland, Alvin and Edward Wilson of Tennessee; her goddaughters, Chasite' (DaReake) Busby, Kourtney Massop; nephews, Christian and Kendal Riley, Damon Jr. and Jonathan Nelson, and Alvin Wilson Jr.; nieces, Olivia Nelson, Althea and Azariah Wilson; godparents, Pastor Sport and Vanessa Palmer; sister in Christ BFF, Debra Dixon

Tonia was preceded in death by her: father John Sample, mother Elaine Wilson, grandparents Percy and Lucille Wilson, grand mothered by Mattie Williams.
