Tyrone N.T. Thomas's Obituary

Tyrone Nathan Tourssaint Thomas, aka TNTT, entered this life on August 11, 1949, in Washington, D.C., as the first born to Clarence Thomas, Sr., and Lenora McCoy Thomas. After 17 years being a Cancer survivor, he departed this life on Sunday, August 20, 2023, surrounded by some family and friends at Virtua Hospital, Voorhees, NJ.

During Tyrone' early childhood years, he and his parents lived in Wilson NC. The family had a brief stay in Wilmington, Delaware before moving to Salem County, NJ in 1966. Tyrone attended Salem Jr. and Sr. High School. He was a good sportsman in the areas of track & field and wrestling. In. 1967, he became #2 as the State Wrestling Champion. Also, while attending High School, he met and married his High School sweetheart, Alice Jacqueline Henry. From this union, there are three daughters: Rachell Thomas, Xernona Thomas and Tyrian Thomas, all of Delaware.

In November 1967, Tyrone entered the Marine Corps, remaining there until 1971. During his service time, he became involved with repairing aircraft. Tyrone excelled in all his tasks as a Marine and was recognized with various service metals: Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Mast Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal.

After returning home from serving his country, Tyrone attended Cumberland County College where he obtained a certification as a Machinist. He worked throughout his years in various Machine Companies until he became ill. He loved taking things apart and putting them back together, giving them the Tyrone version of what it should look like. He was also an avid Chess player and Champion in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Tyrone was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan: FLY EAGLES FLY!!!!!!!

In addition to his above family, Tyrone met his companion, Elmoria "China" Thomas, and moved to Williamstown, in this relationship, they have two daughters: Tia Thomas and Tyriel Thomas, and an extended Allen/Thomas family. While with Elmoria, he faithfully attended St. Phillip's Missionary Baptist Church of Bridgeton. Elmoria was a great companion, friend and caregiver throughout the latter part of Tyrone's life's journey. Tyrone leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings: Phyllis Mason (Louis) of Eagleville Pa.,

Iris Jackson, Charlotte, NC, Clarence Thomas Jr. (Margaret), of Texas and Thallerie " Dee Dee" Thomas of Wilson, North Carolina. All of his girls as mentioned above and their children: Abrille, Tapri, Yvonne, Tyanna, ZaNyiah, Donica, Malik and Lelonnie. Great-grands: Khamai and Layla. He loved and cherished each one of his nieces and nephews along with their spouses. Tyrone held a special place in his heart for all his cousins. Elliott, Sandy, Chris, Leroy, Earl, Blondeana, and Raymond – to name a few.

Tyrone has several life-long friends: Louis Briscoe, Richard & Carl Pitts, Arthur Corley, Sr, Henry Allen. and Arnett Logan. Louis and Richard were more like brothers to him. Louis your sons are the sons Tyrone never had: Louis, Shannon and Christopher Briscoe.

Tyrone was preceded in their transitions, his parents Clarence and Lenora Thomas, his brothers Bobby and Kirk Thomas and his wife, A. Jackie Thomas.
