Vastina Gail Chestnut (Cookie), 73, of Atlantic City passed away on February 28 2021 at Atlantic Regional Medical Center.
She worked for City of Bridgeton as a tax clerk for 10 years and at Bally's casino in Atlantic City for 10 years.
Vastina graduated from Bridgeton High School and lived in Bridgeton NJ for many years where she met and fell in love with Rodney Taylor, she later lived in Atlantic City for 21 years.
She is survived by Robert Chestnut (brother), Carmen Hall (sister), 4 daughters, Kimberly Burrison of Bridgeton, Cynthia Chestnut of Bridgeton, Ruby Chestnut of Bridgeton, Tiffany Curry (Ezekiel) of Virginia and one son John Chestnut (Edith) of Bridgeton, four nephews, Darrell Chestnut, Keven Chestnut, Lorenzo Chestnut, Robert Chestnut Jr, all of Vineland.
Vastina is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Viola Prince, brother Al Chestnut, sister Patricia Chestnut, life partner Rodney Taylor, nephew Al Chestnut Jr and grandson Jerome Chestnut.
Revelations 21,4: "And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
