Vernell Comer 76 of Bridgeton NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA.

Vernell was born in Richmond County, North Carolina on May 09, 1944 to the late Woodrow Wilson and Mitilda S. Comer.  Vernell grew up in Hopewell Township, which is part of Bridgeton New Jersey where he met and married his wife the late Audrey Hall Comer of 55 years.

Vernell had his own Neighbor Pastor, Apostle Mary L. Woods whom he greatly admired and respected.  Mary as he called her would sit and counsel, talk and pray with him only many occasions as a neighborhood friend and Shepard of the Gospel.

Vernell worked at Wheaton Glass42 years, Coach Bus Service approximately 7 years, several at Beirut Meats, Vineland, NJ; and Cherry Street School, Bridgeton, NJ.

Vernell had a great passion for Golf, and was extremely good, mentoring other young golfers, even giving them their first set of clubs. He was SJ Golfer of the year and his colleagues will miss his humor and laugher.   He treasured taking his boat out in the water fishing it give him a peace of mind and joy.   He was recognized a billiard sharp in his own right.  Vernell was genuine sportsmen at heart.   He enjoyed his Breakfast Club; meeting up with the guys to chat and chew.

Vernell is survived by his two sons Eric R (Melinda) Comer Sr., and Darin A (fiancé' Dorthea) Comer both of Bridgeton, NJ; three grandchildren, Krystle (Jarrell) Davis of Lindenwold, Vernell Comer, Jr. (aka) VJ of Sicklerville, NJ, and Eric Comer, Jr., (aka) Lil Eric of Bridgeton, NJ; one great grandson Duce Comer, his brothers Woodrow Comer of Vineland NJ, John and Benjamin Comer, of North Carolina, and Linwood "Perry" Comer of Jersey.  His sisters, Alberta Williams, NY, Debra Clark, Vineland, Charla Comer, Egg Harbor Township and Sylvia and Linda Comer of Bridgeton NJ, his sister-in-law Hazel Comer

A devoted sister-in-law Beverly (Joe) Croskey, his buddies; Donald Still, George Dairsow, Richard Jackson, Terry Wilson to name a few and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by The Love Of His Life Audrey Hall Comer , his two children Vernell Comer, Sr., (aka) Dumpy and Tina Comer, his brothers Maceo Sr, Willie James, Wilson, William, Minnie Ann Comer and step Mother Pauline Comer.05/09/
