Vincent R. Butler, 49 departed this earthly life and went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2020 at home in NJ. Vince as he was affectionately called was born to Carolyn (Butler) Rodgers and Larry T. Rodgers on February 15, 1971 in Bridgeton, NJ. He was raised in Gouldtown (Fairfield). Mr. Butler graduated from the Cumberland Regional High School 90'. He earned an A.A. in Criminal Justice from Cumberland County Community College 93'. Mr. Butler always had his heart set on a career in law enforcement. He went on to serve for 23 years as a Senior Correctional Police Officer.
He was a movie enthusiast enjoying science fiction, horror and classic martial arts. Mr. Butler studied martial arts at the U.S Martial Arts Academy in Vineland under the late Great Grand Master Yeon Hee Park. He attended real estate and exterminating schools in preparation for business ventures. Mr. Butler was a man who enjoyed reading and collected books and magazines related to fixer-up, tools, electrical inventions, mixed martial arts, and cooking. He loved a good meal with steak, chicken, ham or pork chops. Mr. Butler greatest joy was spending time with his family. He loved to share stories, watch Anime, and practice Martial Arts with his children. Mr. Butler was also a man who enjoyed his quiet time and solitude.
He is predeceased by: his mother, Carolyn (Butler) Rodgers and son, Rashan Butler. Surviving to cherish his memory wife, Teresa Moody-Butler; daughter, Candace Cooney; son, Rashad Brown; daughter, Rashanna Butler (Robert); son, Rashawn Butler; daughter, Rasheera Butler; father, Larry T. Rodgers; sister, Tonya Butler; brother, Keith Rodgers (Tasha); sister, Nicole Rodgers; mother-in-law, Camille Moody; sister-in-law, Jeanette (John); brother-in-law, Theodore Moody (Ricki); aunt, Frances Butler-Mohammed; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and two great nephews. He will truly be missed.
Services Date was first placed incorrectly as Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, that has been changed to the correct Date Friday Jan. 8, 2021
