Virginia C.
Mcbride
April 22, 1928 – November 14, 2024
Our dear Mother, Virginia C. McBride, sadly passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the age of ninety-six. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her.
Virginia was born on April 22, 1928, to the late Sylvester Price and Core Price, who preceded her in death. She was the third daughter and fourth child of that union and had many cherished childhood memories.
Virginia graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1948. She married Ralph McBride Sr. on December 21, 1951, three years later. They had six children from this union: Jan, Deborah, Ralph, Noel, Francine, and James.
Virginia worked in Retail and in the Bridgeton Public School System. She was an active member of John Wesley United Methodist, where she served as an usher, missionary, and Sunday School Teacher.
In September 1996, after moving to Millville, Virginia joined Bethel AME Church and became an active member. She worked at the food pantry, served as an usher and a missionary, and was the senior church mother.
Virginia enjoyed traveling, decorating her home during holidays, and spending time with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and was a joy to be around. To know Virginia was to love her. Her family and friends will fondly miss her.
She is survived by her children Jan Dredden (David) Bowie, MD; Deborah Williams (Boyd) Bridgeton, NJ; Ralph McBride, Pleasantville, NJ; Noel McBride (Patricia) Louisburg, NC; Francine Copes (Ronald) Hinesville, GA, and James McBride Bridgeton NJ. Virginia was also blessed with seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her brother-in-law, William Greene.
Her brother, Francis Price, and three sisters, Barbara Greene, Kathleen Tasco, and Roberta Ross, preceded her in death.
