January 7, 1943 – September 5, 2020
Wayne Morris Magee Sr. of Bridgeton, NJ departed this life on Saturday September 5, 2020 at Inspira Hospital, Vineland NJ in the presence of his wife. He was born January 7, 1943. He was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Ethel Mae Turner Magee and Robert Leonard Magee Sr.
He was educated in the Caroline County School system and later he attended Maryland State College, Princess Anne MD. After his college experience, he accomplished two more goals; He got married and he enlisted in the US Army (1964) where he spent the next three years of his life.
After the military (1967), he returned to Maryland to rejoin his wife, who also graduated from Maryland State College (1967). Wayne and Lorraine, along with Wayne Jr. relocated to Bridgeton, NJ (1967). It was in Bridgeton where they continued their family. Two additional children were added to this union: Jason Nathaniel Magee (1974-2007) and Vashti Dyan Magee McGriff (1977).
Upon relocating to Bridgeton, Lorraine began her employment with USDA Farmers Home Administration (1967). Wayne also began his employment at the Bridgeton Evening News as an Advertising Executive in (1967) and continued for 38 years. He retired in 2005.
Wayne was a faithful and devoted member of the Mighty Stars of Faith of Bridgeton, NJ for several years before becoming a member of the Sensational Pearly Gates of Chester, PA. He sang baritone, 1 st and 2 nd tenor and played the bass guitar for approximately 31 years.
He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Holy Church in Port Norris, NJ where his wife is the pastor. There he worked alongside of her as a very faithful deacon. He assisted with packing and distributing food baskets, a project that started in 2006 along with the Prison Ministry.
Besides his wife he leaves to cherish his memories two children, Wayne Morris Magee Jr and Vashti Dyan Magee McGriff (Adrian), one sister Constance Hawkins, one brother Kendall Magee (Louise), One sister in law Elaine Freeman, a host of nieces and nephews, three granddaughters: Dyanna, Dayonna, Diara, one grandson Wayne Morris Magee III, one adopted son John Henry Dairsow Jr (Pamela) three adopted granddaughters: DeMoia Crook (Dwayne), DeMyra, and DeJuana: three adopted great granddaughters DeNia, Destyn, Khloe, and Brielle, God Children: Courtney Lewis Bratten, Shateara Bowleg, Adjeel & Rasheem Bartley, Mark Sampson, Jessanae Cruz.
His son Jason Nathaniel Magee awaits in Heaven to be rejoined with his Father.
