Whitney Renee
Harris
October 21, 1977 – November 7, 2020
Whitney Renee Harris was born on October 21, 1977 to the late Morris E. Harris Jr. and Barbarette Moore Harris in Marlton, NJ. Unexpectedly, on Saturday November 7, 2020, Whitney departed this life.
Whitney initially attended the Winslow Elementary School System. After the family relocated back to Glassboro in 1988, she attended Glassboro Intermediate School and then graduated from Glassboro High School in June 1995. She attended Gloucester County College, where she received an Associate Degree in Business
Administration.
Whitney accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. In the early 1980's, she was baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Emanuel J. Lyons. Most recently, she attended St. Matthews Church in Williamstown, NJ with her uncle Ernest Moore, Jr.
Whitney was a devoted mother to her sons, Eugene and Nazzir Harris, and an EXCEPTIONALLY devoted and loving grandmother to her granddaughter Amari Harris. She enjoyed seeing Eugene and
Nazzir participate in organized sports. She also loved to cook, bake desserts, and needle point. A lot of her favorite time was spent spoiling her granddaughter, Amari. Whitney loved 90's Hip Hop music and
thoroughly enjoyed dancing. The family recalls her favorite saying was "Get you some!!!", especially when it came to hearing music and seeing her granddaughter dancing to it.
Whitney worked a few years as a cherry picker and forklift operator at Owens & Mines in West Deptford, NJ. Her most recent employment was A Tax Consultant at Jackson Hewitt in Turnersville, NJ.
Whitney was predeceased by her father, Morris E. Harris Jr. in 2016, her grandfathers, Ernest E. Moore Sr. in 1988 and Morris E. Harris Sr. in 1996, and her paternal grandmother, Dr. Dolores M. Harris
on October 8, 2020.
Whitney leaves to cherish her memories: two devoted sons, Eugene and Nazzir Harris; one granddaughter, Amari Harris; her loving mother, Barbarette Harris; her caring grandmother, Eloise Moore; two brothers, Morris E. Harris III and Jerald Custis; a sister-in-law, Stacey Harris; four aunts, Julia Moore, Sheila Harris Davis, Karen Wilkerson, and Helen Moore; three uncles, Ernest Moore, Jr. Chet Davis and Gregory Harris; a great aunt, Eleanor Robinson; a stepmother, Gail Green-Harris; and Godmother, Faye Crooks; She also leaves behind a host of cousins, and other family and friends. Whitney will be sadly missed by all.
