William S.
Deshields, Jr.
October 7, 1949 – June 28, 2021
William S. DeShields Jr., 71 of Vineland NJ son of the late William S DeShields Sr and the late Mary (Farmer) DeShields born in Bridgeton, NJ on October 07, 1949. He went home to be with Lord on June 28, 2021.
Upon completing High School, William joined the Marines and fought for his Country in the Vietnam War. William was a Truck Driver for National Freight, Frank LoBiondo's, and American Galvanizing, were he then retired from.
In 1974 William met the love of his life Juanita at a club in Vineland whom he married in 1975. Prior to the marriage, William has a daughter Tracy Hayward. Also, to this joyous union, he has two daughters Renee' DeShields-Bishop (Bartholomew) and Yolanda Jones (Kevin).
William enjoyed taking long car rides, going on family vacations, and was an avid spades player. When he competed in spade's games, which he took seriously, he would ALWAYS blame his opponents of cheating. More of Williams favorite hobbies were going fishing, watching is favorite sports games cheering on the Eagles during football season and rooting for a homerun for his Phillies. He also enjoyed endless time supporting his grandkids. William's favorite food was Chicken and Dumplings and a good ole' Pineapple upside down cake made by his grandma.
William leaves to cherish and to be remembered by his wife Juanita R. DeShields (Williams). His three beautiful girls, Tracy Hayward, Renee DeShields-Bishop (Bartholomew), & Yolanda Jones (Kevin). His grandchildren, Tynieka DeShields & Elizah Jones, his Godson Eric DeShields. Also, his thirteen siblings…Benjamin, Clarissa, Joe (Regina), Daniel, Denise (Richard), Wesley, Janice, Lewis, Roger (Denise), Johnny, Marsha, but pre-deceased in death by his brother Glen and his sister Sandra. He will be sadly missed by a host of more grandkids, great grandkids, nieces, nephews and cousins.
