Yvonne
Scurry
December 19, 1950 – May 25, 2021
Senior Pastor Yvonne Scurry was born to the late Linwood and Odessie Cullum on December 19,1950 in Aiken South Carolina. She departed this life on May 25, 2021, at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, NJ.
Pastor Scurry met and married the love of her life, the late John T. Scurry Sr. and they were married for 48 years. They were blessed with three children: John T. Scurry Jr., the late Deanna Randolph, and Shedrick Scurry. Pastor Scurry was employed with the Vineland Developmental Center in Vineland, NJ and retired after 25 years of service.
Senior Pastor Yvonne Scurry accepted Jesus Christ into her life at the age 21 and began her Christian life. As she grew in her relationship with God she became an ordained minister, where she taught Sunday school, Bible study, and was a member of the senior choir. In her later years, as the Lord would direct her path, Pastor Yvonne Scurry was installed as the Senior Pastor of The Power and The Glory Church on November 3, 2013, by Chief Apostle Mary L. Woods of the Victory in Christ International Covenant Churches & Ministries, Inc. Under Pastor Scurry's direction, The Power and The Glory Church possessed both a clothing and a food pantry. In Pastor Scurry's spare time, she would generate all sorts of cards to family and friends for birthdays, anniversaries, and more. As a true missionary, Pastor Scurry, would visit and pray with those who were sick and shut in. She loved to sing and praise God with her whole heart, but most of all, she loved to teach sound doctrine. Pastor Scurry was always so sweet and welcoming to everyone. She will be remembered by all as loving, caring, gentle, and so much more.
Senior Pastor Yvonne Scurry leaves to honor her memory, her sons, John T. Scurry Jr., of Bridgeton, NJ and Shedrick (Kendra) Scurry of Fayetteville, N. Lovingly Submitted, THE FAMILY
